Hōkai Nuku is the authorised voice of the four Iwi and Hapū mana whenua for the Ara Tūhono Pūhoi to Wellsford Roading projects – namely Ngāti Manuhiri, Ngāti Mauku/Ngāti Kauae of Te Uri o Hau, Ngāti Rango of Kaipara and Ngāti Whātua. Hōkai Nuku was initially formed in 2010 to collaborate on the New Zealand Transport Agency Project, Ara Tūhono and has been contracted by the Transport Agency and Northern Express Group (NX2) to provide specialist advice for the Project. As part of the Ara Tūhono Pūhoi to Warkworth Project, Hōkai Nuku has collected cultural harvest materials. First priority has been given to artworks for the Ara Tūhono Projects.
The remainder is available to the Iwi and Hapū members of Hōkai Nuku for cultural use. They will need to be collected at your own cost.
If you are interested in any of these materials please contact Natasha Topia, Kaiawhina by 28/2/21 so that we can develop a list of interested parties to be considered by our Board.
